My life’s ambition at age three was to learn to read. I learned the tools and the skills at age four, and haven’t stopped since! A passion for reading as a little girl has grown into a professional career and a lifelong calling.
Milner & Associates is owned and operated by Karen Milner, a veteran publishing professional with thirty years’ experience in the industry—an editor by calling and entrepreneurial by nature.
Karen started the trade publishing program at John Wiley & Sons Canada and eventually built three publishing programs from the ground up, in diverse categories of the professional and consumer market: business, finance, and sports.
As Editor and Executive Editor at Wiley for over two decades, and now as an independent publisher, she is accomplished at building and managing strong, enduring relationships and partnerships. A trusted, collaborative, and well-respected leader, Karen is passionate about quality and about helping authors to convey their message effectively, as well as financially responsible and results-oriented.
A versatile, dedicated editor with a strong sales and marketing sensibility, Karen has delivered significant results through acquiring and developing high-quality print and e-book product for the professional and consumer market in Canada and globally.
Under the Milner & Associates imprint, she has published national bestsellers such as Your Retirement Income Blueprint, by Daryl Diamond; Victory Lap Retirement, by Mike Drak, Robert E. Morrison, and Jonathan Chevreau; and Retirement Income for Life, by Fred Vettese. Her list includes titles in a wide range of business and finance categories and she works with clients in Canada and the U.S. She also provides editing services to other publishers, working with their authors to develop their manuscripts.
Among the authors she worked with over the years at Wiley are Sandra Foster, Jean Blacklock, Moshe Milevsky (personal finance); David Weiss, Richard Leblanc, Judith Humphrey (business and leadership); Ken Dryden, Bob McKenzie, James Duthie (sports).
